Business intelligence and decision support

It all starts with data. If we know what we want, data can represent information. If we wish to look for patterns where at first glance there aren’t any, we need presentations (visualizations).  The better the data is, the more potential the analytical system has. The better the insight we have into a business system, the better the information we can demand. The more creativity we can summon, the more clear and effective the presentation of information can be.

Business intelligence is the foundation of Decision Support Systems. It contains approaches that offer an in-depth look into the business operations of a company quickly, simply and efficiently. The more curious will even be able to produce their own reports, of the kind that they need in a given moment. These are the unlimited possibilities that information technology brings.

Often it happens that various data are housed in various depositories, which is not too big of an obstacle. It is possible to assemble them into a comprehensive unit and in this way, connect the seemingly unconnectable, this being the ultimate goal of IT and informatization. The added value of such systems can in this way be enormous, if not decisive.

The data is everywhere. Are you capable of gleaning information out of it?
